Name change
We updated the name of the game from Evercore Heroes to Evercore Heroes: Ascension! A small change, but with a big meaning!
Don't worry, we aren't changing the game again. We are still working on the 3-player Team Action Roguelite we announced earlier this year and are making big steps!
Still taking place in the world of Lumerea with the heroes you love, the game is different to the point we felt it also deserved its own title to better reflect the new direction we are working on and to make it really stand on its own, which is how Evercore Heroes: Ascension was born!
Playtesting
We ran our first playtest. Many of you tried out the new Evercore Heroes for the very first time and it was amazing to see you all play!
Your feedback has been invaluable, and we can't wait to welcome all of you back and try out new features and updates we made to the game!
Want to join the next playtest? Go to our Steam store page and click 'request access' to let us know you'd like to play!
We'll be adding more players to the list with every playtest!
Hero Mode
Hero mode is a new single player mode where you get to challenge yourself and go on an adventure to face the dangers of Lumerea on your own.
That's right, it's all up to you to save the world and it won't be easy!!
This is our way of providing you with a way to play when you boot up the game and are waiting for your friends to come online, want to challenge yourself on a speedrun for bragging rights or want to practice a hero before queueing up for the real deal. Of course, if you don't feel like playing with anybody else that day, we think that's totally cool too!
We can't wait to have you all test it out!
Controller support
We did a total overhaul of the control scheme to make it fit the change to the 3-player action roguelite format better. We've always had players suggest adding controller support, so we experimented playing with a controller and realized we liked it so much that we decided to fully implement it.
Don't worry, we heard your feedback regarding keyboard & mouse as well and have given it a new lick of paint which you'll be able to test out very soon! We are looking forward to your feedback.
New content
We are constantly working on new content and it's hard to keep up with how much we've added since our announcement. Here's a summary of some of the bigger additions not yet mentioned above:
- We added new heroes; you can now play 6 sentinels (2 of each role)!
- New shards; more ways to combo shards and play your favorite sentinels
- New enemies and attack patterns; new special moves for enemies and a new mini-boss!
- New maps; changing up every playthrough with new terrain to explore!
- balance changes; can you beat our first mission?
What's next?
There are many things on our list that we'd like to do! Our current next big goal is to prepare for the next playtest and let you all test more often!
More exciting things are on the way like:
- Meta progression; unlock powerups for your sentinels!
- More types of shards & new ability upgrades
- More enemy attack patterns to learn and battle
- More balance changes
And much much more!
Keep an eye on our Steam page and add us to your wishlist if you like what we do! See you for the next update!
Oh, and we released a cool new trailer you should definitely check out!!
